Australia

Australia February 2014

Sydney - Newcastle - Port Macquarie - Brisbane - Surfers paradise - Byron bay - Tin Can Bay

On the 28th January I finally landed after long flight with stop in Dubai and Bangkok in Sydney. The flight was one hour longer as the engineers were fixing engine in Bangkok. Travel by Emirates and Qantas was nice & comfortable as it was my first touch with luxury on board even in economy class it cannot be compered with low coast flights by CSA, Aerlingus or mad guys from Ryanair

Weather in Sydney was so hot as come from freezing temperatures in Czech republic. I've got shorts and flip flops on even that the air in shade was so dry and hot.
If compare with Europe Australia is very expensive. I've met one important man friend of mine, had few hours nap, went out had a dinner nothing special but expensive.
We've checked local car hire companies online and picked 1.8 Toyota corolla automatic as cheap option. In future will get diesel estate car because of the fuel expenses and also the comfort when sleeping in the car...
Next morning took a train - subway arrived to airport looking for car hire company but they had no office directly on the airport and wasn't easy to find these guys. In the end found where they re based and got airport shuttle to stop nearby rent a car and hit the road.
It was late afternoon before we left the city as well. All the way up was pushing to go as far from city as we could.

Most of these day we've drove until midnight or late nite, slept in car on camp sides or next to BBQ places & showers. During the Oz trip got an "awesome" idea for further trips -  have to get van and surf board to keep traveling around cool spots and stay in comfortable "bed" as the drivers seat wasn't perfect.

Fishermans Bay was one of many stops on the way along east coast toward north. First stop outside the city was Hunter valley did ride in between wine fields and moved towards Newcastle and Nobbys beach. We've spend first nite on car park at Birubi Point Sisc on Nobbys beach with clean & free facilities which were welcome. As we arrived late at night didn't see much next morning had nice weather and view I was satisfied finally reached australian sea coast.
Day no.2 plan was keep going northh from Sydney. On the way "up" had look also at Boomerang Beach and drove through small roads near sea cost. Town beach in Port Macquarie is nice spot /facilities in place/. Port Macquarie was just quick break after that we moved directly to Coffs harbour.
